Get on the Do Not Call Register
The list, for people who do not want to receive calls from telemarketers, was started in 2007 by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
Being on the list will stop people telemarketing to you for five years before you need to re-register.
There are now over 4.3 million numbers on the register.
Your telephone numbers, (including fax numbers) can be registered by phoning
1300 792 958 or go to the official web site at www.donotcall.gov.au
